The subtle, yet important, difference between multimedia and social media

On one hand, “Social media is a media designed to be disseminated through social interaction, created using highly accessible and scalable publishing techniques. Social media uses Internet and web-based technologies to transform broadcast media monologues (one to many) into social media dialogues (many to many).”

At this point, although we can see that there’s a similarity of interactivity nature on both channels, there is still some differences which happen on the channels usage, the content, the presentation of information, and the kind of interactivity which can be produced.
